If you are between the ages of 17 and 24 and a Montgomery County Resident, you may apply to be a member of MCCC.

You must apply in person any Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at 14900 Southlawn Lane, Rockville, Maryland 20850.

Want to join?Once your application has been approved you will be scheduled for a physical examination and drug test. If you successfully meet these requirements you will then be invited to attend a “Hard Corps Challenge which is a (three day) program designed to give you a close look at the Corps, and for the Corps to take a close look at you. The Hard Corps Challenge is fun! You will participate in team building exercises, work with the corps members on projects, and get an introduction to what you can expect from the Corps, and what the Corps will expect from you if you are selected. We want to hire young men and women who are serious about education and training, and responsible enough to show up every day on time, ready to work and study.

"In order to survive you have to strive" -- Richard Lariano.

Once the corps has evaluated you following this initial orientation those accepted will then be invited to participate in Rookie Training Camp. During this two week period you’ll meet with staff who will assess your existing skills and needs. You will then receive training to develop the minimum skills necessary for placement as a corps member. At the end of the Rookie Training Camp and over the following 13 months in the program you will start learning on the job skills and participate in leadership development classes while starting to earn hours towards an AmeriCorps educational award.
